Description

3, Bongate is a late 18th-century building in Appleby-in-Westmorland. It has a roughcast exterior and a slate roof. The building is two storeys high. The front features a central 6-panelled door with a semi-circular blind fanlight, originally set within a simple doorcase with impost. This doorway is now sheltered by a porch, which connects to two 20th-century bay windows at ground floor level. Above the ground floor, there are two 16-paned sash windows set in plain architraves. The building is included on the list because of its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
