Description

The curtain wall, located approximately 30 meters north of Beetham Hall, is a medieval structure built from rubble. It features a slight batter on the outer face, which has a slightly projecting parapet supported by corbels. The inner face of the wall displays five long vertical chases, with four smaller square chases positioned between them. The Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England suggests that these chases were likely intended for the feet of struts to support a timber gallery behind the parapet.
