Description
The Church of All Saints is a church built in 1756, though it underwent extensive restoration in the 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone blocks with margined quoins set on a chamfered plinth, and features moulded eaves. The roof is covered with graduated slate and has stone-flagged eaves, along with stone copings and kneelers, topped with an apex cross at the east and a bellcote at the west. The church has a cruciform plan and includes a 19th-century porch. The east window and the windows in the transept end walls were added around 1896, while the 18th-century windows are plain with pointed heads. The west end features a 15th-century window, and a panel above it, dated 1756, is likely a 19th-century replacement. Inside, there are two 18th-century columns with moulded capitals and bases on 3½-foot-high plinth blocks that separate each transept arm from the nave. The original 18th-century box pews were dismantled and repurposed to line the walls of the nave and transept, and the woodwork in the chancel dates to around 1936.
