Description
The retaining wall to the front gardens of Tytup Hall is an 18th-century garden feature. It is constructed from coursed limestone and topped with ashlar sandstone copings. The wall stands approximately 2 meters high and separates the front gardens from the lower fields to the east. It has an irregular outline, featuring a shallow convex curve in front of Tytup Hall, followed by convex quadrants and internal and external returns. When viewed from the house, the wall appears low and has chamfered-edge copings.
