Description
The Parish Church of St Andrew features a west tower constructed of red sandstone rubble from the 12th and 13th centuries. The west doorway and the rest of the church were rebuilt in 1720 using red sandstone ashlar in a classical style. The exterior includes two rows of round-headed windows set in chamfered openings, each with triple keystones, and a sundial on the south wall. Inside, the church has two tiers of Roman Doric arcades, wide aisles, and galleries of equal width above the aisles and at the west end. The ceilings are panelled, and there are three round-headed lights in the east wall. The altar area features a round arch with paintings.
