Description
The Gathering, formerly known as the Tudor Restaurant and the Tudor Cafe, is a Grade II* listed building located in Penrith on St Andrew's Place. The building features a later King Street frontage that connects at the rear to a 16th-century house dated 1563, associated with Robert Bartram. The original gabled wing has two storeys with old windows; the ground level includes four round-headed lights with small panes and hollow-chamfered stone mullions. There is a stringcourse above the upper window and a small square opening in the gable. To the right of the wing, there is a later addition with a shaped doorway below ground level and two sash windows on each of the three storeys, most of which have glazing bars, along with a round-headed stair window.
