Description
Nos 48 to 52 on King Street are 18th-century buildings constructed of painted ashlar and standing three storeys tall. The ground floor features small modern shop fronts. The first floor has nine windows, while the top floor has ten windows, mostly sashes with the glazing bars removed, all set within plain stone architraves. Notably, No 48 has two 16-paned sashes. A plaque on the building indicates that William Wordsworth stayed at the Robin Hood, located at No 51, with Raisley Calvert during 1794-1795.
