Description

Redmayne House is a house dated 1787, as indicated by a rainwater head. It is constructed of snecked rubble with a graduated slate roof featuring stone copings, kneelers, and stone end chimneys. Later additions have been made to the rear, and a Victorian wing extends to the south. The front of the house is symmetrical, with three stories and three bays. Victorian canted bay windows flank a central six-panelled door, which has a rectangular fanlight and a stone architrave. Consoles support a cornice which serves as the sill for the central first-floor window. Each first-floor window has a single plain medallion at the top of the stone surround, with consoles carrying a cornice. The top-floor windows have plain stone surrounds. All windows are sash windows with segmentally-arched heads, and are Victorian replacements.
