Description
Blencogo Farmhouse and barn is a farmhouse and adjoining barn from the early 19th century, with the barn incorporating an earlier doorway inscribed T.I. & I.I. 1674. The farmhouse features painted incised stucco with V-jointed quoins on a chamfered plinth, topped with a graduated greenslate roof. It is two storeys high and has three bays, with the lower barn located to the right. The main entrance includes a top-glazed door beneath a blind overlight, set in a pilastered doorcase adorned with urns in relief on the friezes, all under a pediment. The farmhouse has 20th-century casement windows in painted stone surrounds. The barn is constructed of painted rubble with flush quoins and also has a graduated greenslate roof. It features a 20th-century door within a 17th-century chamfered surround, topped by a Tudor arch and hoodmould, along with 20th-century windows in 19th-century painted stone surrounds beneath slit vents.
