Description

Alba House, at 148 Maryport High Street, was built in 1842. It is a two-story building with a cement-rendered facade featuring pilasters extending the full height of the building, topped with moulded capitals. A plinth runs along the base. The building has a plain cornice and three windows. A string course is positioned at the cills of the first-floor windows, which have modern sash windows set within their reveals. Aprons are present on the ground-floor windows. Two heavy Greek Doric columns are placed within the reveal of the entrance, which is accessed by steps with an iron handrail.
