Description

Holstead House, Cliffton House and The Cottage are a group of former villas, dating from the mid-19th century. Originally built as two separate villas – one known as Cliffton House, the other as The Cottage – they have been converted into three houses by 2022. The buildings are constructed of stucco with rusticated detailing to the ground floor and have brackets supporting the eaves. The front elevation features three windows, a band at the cills, and cornices supported by brackets. The ground floor windows are set within moulded surrounds, also with moulded brackets to the cornices. A rendered porch features paired pilasters, and the entrance has carved double doors topped with a rectangular fanlight. An iron area guard is present. The side elevation has three windows above three more, with the ground floor windows having lost their cornices. A two-storey wing includes a doorway.
