Description

Lloyds Bank is a bank building with offices above, constructed around 1853. It is made of calciferous sandstone ashlar with polished granite dressings, featuring sill bands and a bracketed eaves cornice. The roof is slate, and there are shared end brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and four bays on each facade, situated on a corner site at the intersection of Lowther Street and Devonshire Street.

The entrance features 20th-century doors and an overlight set in a granite columned surround beneath a segmental pediment. There are similar off-centre doors on both facades, also in paired columned surrounds. The ground floor has large casement windows within original paired column surrounds, all under an overall cornice. The first floor has paired sash windows in fluted pilaster surrounds, while the second floor features sash windows in stone architraves. Single sashes are located above the doors, all under cornice hoods with stone panels between the first and second floors. The interior has been covered by modern fascias.
