Description

A terrace of three houses built in the 1840s or early 1850s and located on Stanwix Bank, Stanwix, Carlisle. The houses are constructed of Flemish bond brickwork with a chamfered plinth, and have calciferous sandstone dressings, a sill band, and bracketed metal gutters. They have Welsh slate roofs; one house has a skylight, and the original brick chimney stacks remain. The houses are two storeys high with a basement, and each is two bays wide. Each house has a panelled front door with a partly-glazed upper section and a radial fanlight, set within a stone surround and brick reveals. The sash windows on the upper floor have margin glazing bars, and the basement windows are smaller; all are set in brick reveals with flat brick arches. The interiors have not been inspected. The houses are depicted on the 1865 Ordnance Survey map.
