Description

Derwent Bridge, built in 1822, features two segmental spans constructed from tooled masonry. It has a plain string course, over-sailing courses, and parapets. The cutwaters are triangular in shape. The bridge accommodates two footpaths and two lanes of traffic over the River Derwent. It is a straightforward structure that adds value to the surrounding landscape. Derwent Bridge is part of a group that includes Nos 5 to 19 (odd), Nos 23 to 27 (odd), and Derwent Bridge House on Cote Road.
