Description
Kirkby House is an early 19th-century building located on Crown Street. It is constructed of roughcast with a slate roof and stands two storeys high. The building features a stone band and plinth, and the entrance consists of a panelled door with a traceried fanlight, accessed by three steps and set within a stone frame. There are two windows to the left and one to the right on the ground floor, with four windows above, all of which are 12-paned sashes in plain stone frames. The upper sills of the windows rest on a stone band, and there is a banded cornice at the eaves. Kirkby House is part of a group that includes Nos 2 and 4, the Trout Hotel, and Grecian Villa, alongside Wordsworth House on Main Street.
