Description

Derwent Mills is a large, prominent building constructed before 1832, made of local stone rubble. It has four storeys, with 20 small-paned sash windows on each floor. The building features an ashlar course beneath the coping and channel jointed pilasters at the corners, which have crude moulded capitals. The roof is covered with green slate and has a low pitch, with lead hips and a ridge. There is an ashlar attic on the projecting staircase wing. Please note that later additions are not included in this description.
