Description

Nos. 70, 72, 74, 74A, 76, 78, 80, and 82, Main Street, form a group, with Nos. 72 to 80 being two storeys and Nos. 76 to 82 (even) including No. 82 which is three storeys. The buildings are constructed of whitewashed stone with slate roofs, with the exception of No. 82, which is grey stucco over stone. Nos. 72 to 80 have late 19th and early 20th century shop fronts and four shop windows. The upper floors of Nos. 72 to 80 feature sash windows within stone frames, most of which are moulded, and include wings. No. 82 has a 19th century shop front and two sash windows on each upper floor, with the first-floor windows set within moulded architraves. The group value of the buildings is enhanced by the presence of No. 74A alongside Nos. 72 to 80.
