Description
This sundial, located south of Wetheral Church, dates back to 1751, as indicated on the dial, although the inscription naming the maker is too weathered to read. It is made of red sandstone and brass. The sundial features a polygonal column that is set in a carved stepped medieval cross socket, topped with a brass dial that displays Roman numerals. It is listed partly for its group value with Wetheral Church and other nearby monuments.
