Description

The Village Hall, formerly listed as a school, was built in 1840 and is designed in the Tudor style. It is constructed from ashlar ironstone and has a tiled roof. The building is single storey, featuring a projecting gable on the right side that includes a tall three-light mullioned and transomed casement window set in a flush chamfered surround, complete with a dripmould above. To the left, there are three similar windows without transoms, with the central window located under a gable that has a raised shield carved with the date and inscription. A dripmould is also present above the entrance door. The Village Hall, along with Brookside, The Old Forge, and Raynsford Almshouses, forms a cohesive group.
