Description

The Raynsford Almshouses are a group of four buildings dating to 1673. They are constructed of ashlar and have a tiled roof with stone-coped gables on both the central and side elevations. The buildings are single-storied, featuring four double-light stone mullioned windows with lattice casements set in chamfered reveals, all under hood moulds. Stone lintels are above the doorways. A central gable displays a panel and panel design with a raised shield, both set under cornices. The buildings form a group with Brookside, The Old Forge, and the Village Hall.
