Description

The Tithe Barn is a 16th-century building located at Winwick Manor, originally listed as stables approximately 30 metres south of the Manor House. It is constructed of brick and features an old plain tile roof. The barn has been adapted into a four-unit plan and is partly two storeys high.

The front facade includes a five-window range, with three two-light stone mullion windows on the left, a three-light stone mullion window with arch heads on the right, and a wood casement with leaded lights at the far right. Central plank double doors are framed by a moulded stone surround, while there are also 20th-century double doors to the far left and a single 20th-century door to the far right, which has a moulded stone surround beneath a segmental arch. A brick stack is located at one end, and there are remains of a mounting block to the right of the central doors. The side gables and rear are plain, except for one wood casement window at the rear.

Inside, the room to the far right features an open fireplace with a bressumer and some original ceiling beams. The first-floor area to the far right contains a 17th-century fireplace with a moulded stone surround, some original wall studding, and a plank door dated 1747. The roof structure is a trenched purlin design.
