Description

Walnut Farm House Barn and Stables is a late 17th-century building with early 19th-century alterations and a minor 20th-century addition. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble, lime washed, and features a pantile roof with raised brick coped gables on the house, as well as two brick gable stacks and a single ridge stack. The stable block connects the barn to the house.

The structure is single-storey with attics and has a four-bay garden front. The entrance is off-center and features a four-panelled door, with a planked door to the right covered by a 20th-century glazed conservatory. To the left, there are two sliding sash windows with glazing bars. All openings have timber lintels. Above the garden front, there are three dormers with sliding sash windows, planked cheeks, and sloping roofs.

On the road elevation, there are three sliding sash windows with timber lintels and one dormer window above. The single-storey, two-bay stables include a single bay outshot and two planked doors, with the left door being a stable door. The 17th-century roof is of clasped purlin construction and contains two stables equipped with mangers, hayracks, and halter pegs. The 18th-century barn features an off-center planked door with a timber lintel and a vertical breather. The roof of the barn has two original ties, while the rest is of 19th-century clasped purlin construction.
