Description

Home Farmhouse is a mid-18th century house, originally a farmhouse, altered around 1840 and in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with limestone dressings and a plain-tile roof, featuring blue brick end stacks. The building follows a two-unit plan and presents a three-window front across two storeys and an attic. A central four-panel door is flanked by panelled reveals and has a pilastered wooden surround with a dentilled cornice and pediment. A two-light stone mullion window illuminates the left-hand cellar. A 20th-century canted bay window is situated on the right, with the remaining windows being 16-pane sash windows with stone sills and flat-arched heads. Ironstone quoins are prominent, and the gables are stone-coped with kneelers. A kitchen wing extends from the rear right side. The interior features chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, a stone-flagged hall, a dog-leg staircase with stick balusters, and a stone cellar.
