Description
White Hall is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with a 20th-century plain-tile roof and stone end stacks. The building has a 2-unit plan, incorporating a central staircase. It is two storeys high, with an attic, and has a 3-window front. A central 19th-century part-glazed door has panelled reveals, a moulded wooden surround with pilasters, and a gabled hood supported by brackets. A bay window is located to the right, alongside a glazed conservatory to the left. A 6-pane window sits to the left of the door, while the first floor features 16-pane sash windows, all with ironstone lintels and key blocks. Other features include a chamfered plinth, ironstone quoins, stone-coped gables with kneelers, and two hipped roof dormers. A wing to the rear right features a 6-panel back door with an overlight, and similar windows. The interior contains an open well staircase with a steeply ramped and wreathed mahogany handrail, carved tread-ends, and ornamental cast-iron balusters, alternating with stick balusters.
