Description
Haselbech Hall is a country house likely dating from the mid-18th century with later additions in the early 20th century. It was designed by Henry Jones for Randolf Wykes. The house is constructed of limestone ashlar with a slate roof and follows a double-depth plan. It is two storeys high with an attic.
The front facade features a single-window range, with the central bay projecting forward as a two-storey canted bay. The ground floor entrance has double doors from the early 20th century, set within an arched surround of decorative moulded stone. Above, a large stone mullioned window with transoms occupies the first floor. A parapet with roundel decoration sits above. Flanking windows are mullioned with transoms; two lights to the left and four lights to the right. Above these are a four-light first-floor window and two-light attic windows. The facade is punctuated by a pair of Jacobean gables, each with an ashlar parapet. Gabled roofs are topped with ashlar stacks at the ridge. A similar facade extends to the right. A wing to the left was demolished in the 1960s. The house suffered a fire in 1917 and was subsequently remodelled by Crawley. The interior remains uninspected.
