Description
The Old House is a mid-18th century house located on the north side of the Main Street in Hannington. It is built from squared coursed lias and has a corrugated asbestos roof. The house features a two-unit plan with an original lobby entry and stands two storeys tall. The front has a three-window range, with 19th and 20th-century casements set under wooden lintels. There is a 20th-century glazed door that is accessed by a flight of steps. At ground level, there is a brick plinth, and brick stacks are located at the ridge and end of the building. Although the interior was not inspected, it was noted that the room to the left of the entrance has an open fireplace with a bressumer above. The Old House is included for its group value with the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul.
