Description
Trafford Bridge Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is built of squared coursed ironstone and features both stone slate and slate roofs, along with stone stacks. The building has an L-plan layout and consists of two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, with three bays. The central doorway has a wooden lintel and features a six-panel, part-glazed door beneath a flat wooden hood. All windows are fitted with stone lintels that have keystones and are designed as three-light wood casements. There are two dormers that have moulded wood lintels and two-light old iron casements with leaded panes. The right gable is topped with stone coping and kneelers. On the left side, there is a blocked central doorway with deeply carved Chauncy arms above it. The rear wing, which is from the early 18th century, is made of similar materials and has two storeys and an attic, with two bays and a coped gable end on kneelers. Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered main beams in the ground floor rooms and an original winder staircase. This farmhouse is one of the Edgcote Estate farmhouses, similar in style and date to Wardington Gate Farmhouse.
