Description
Numbers 2 and 4 (Manor View) are two houses dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. They are constructed of cob, brick, and lias, now rendered, and feature slate roofs. Originally, both houses had two-unit plans. Number 2 is a single-storey building with an attic, displaying a three-window range of casements with glazing bars on the ground floor and a dormer window to the left. It has a central 20th-century door and brick stacks at both ends, with the right gable rebuilt in brickwork. Number 4 is two storeys high and has a four-window range of 20th-century casements. It features a 19th-century roof with brick stacks at the ends and a 20th-century entrance at the rear. The interior has not been inspected, but Number 2 is reputed to have raised cruck construction. These houses are included in the register as examples of cob construction.
