Description

The Chequers Public House is an early 19th-century building constructed of brick with a slate roof. It was originally designed with a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high. The façade features a three-window range of casements that have glazing bars and are set under gauged brick arches. The central door, which dates from the 20th century, has panelled reveals and a moulded wood doorcase. The roof is hipped with an overhanging soffit, and there are brick stacks located at the ridge.
