Description
This building is a barn and pigsties located approximately 15 meters southeast of Trafford Bridge Farmhouse, dating from the mid-18th century. The barn is constructed of uncoursed squared ironstone and features a corrugated iron roof. It has five bays, with a cart entrance in the second bay from the right, which includes a wooden lintel and double plank doors. To the right, there is a 19th-century sash window, and to the left, a slit window. There is also a doorway with a wooden lintel and plank door in the left bay. The gable ends are coped and have kneelers. Inside, the barn has a queen post roof with original tie beams, main rafters, and purlins. The adjoining pigsties, located to the left, are made of squared uncoursed ironstone and have a tiled roof. They feature three entrances with wooden lintels and plank doors. This structure is part of an interesting complex of farm buildings and is included for its group value.
