Description
Walcott House is a house dated 1748, marked by the initials R.E.B. It is built of squared coursed lias with a thatched roof and features a three-unit plan with a cross wing to the right. The house is a single storey with an attic and has a two-window range. The entrance, located at the far right, includes a flight of steps leading to a 20th-century half-glazed door. The front elevation is partly rendered and has 20th-century casement windows. The gable parapets and kneelers are made of ashlar, and there are brick stacks at the ridge and end, along with the datestone in the gable of the cross wing. The rear of the house is similar but includes stone mullioned windows in the crossing and a moulded stone head above the side entrance of the cross wing, as well as a dormer with leaded lights. Inside, the ground floor room to the right features a bressumer over the fireplace and a chamfered central beam with steps, along with a butt purlined roof structure.
