Description
The Forge House is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed lias stone and has a slate roof. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, featuring a three-window range. There are entrances to the left of centre and at the far right, both fitted with 20th-century glazed doors beneath wooden lintels. The ground floor has plain wood casement windows set in moulded stone surrounds, complete with drip moulds. A small stair window is located between the first and second windows from the left, and there is a similar window on the left gable. The left gable has an ashlar gable parapet, while brick and rendered stacks are present at the ridge and ends. To the left, there are 19th-century single-storey buildings that were originally part of the forge. The rear of the house features plain 20th-century render.
