Description

Marlow Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of rendered cob on a lias plinth, featuring a brick gable and a corrugated metal roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan, and the building is single-storey with an attic. The front has a one-window range with a 19th-century casement and a 20th-century door to the right. There is a central brick stack and 19th-century bargeboards on the left gable. To the right, there is a 19th-century one-unit, two-storey extension. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to have ceiling beams and some original roof structure. Marlow Cottage is included as an example of cob construction.
