Description

Langham House is a mid-19th century building of Italianate style, situated on Barrack Road, with its main front facing Hester Street. It is constructed of yellow brick with stone dressings. The building has a basement and three storeys, topped with a hipped tiled roof featuring a modillion cornice and a guilloche frieze. Quoins and horizontal bands mark the floors and sills. The upper floors each have five casement windows set within rusticated architrave surrounds, with first-floor cornices supported on consoles. The ground floor features round-headed windows and a doorway of a similar design. The east-facing elevation incorporates a ground-floor Venetian window and a first-floor window that mimics the Venetian style, with an arched panel above the central light.
