Description

New Ways is a building located at 508 Wellingborough Road, constructed between 1925 and 1926 by P Behrens for W J Basset-Lowke. It is designed in the German Expressionist style and features some internal elements that were originally part of No 78 Derngate, which was remodeled in 1916 by C R Mackintosh. The front of the building is two stories high, made of whitewashed cement render, and includes a pointed bay window with a staircase. It is topped with a crested parapet. This building is noted as possibly the first example of the German Expressionist style in England.
