Description
St. Rumbald's Well is a well head located approximately 70 metres south of Astrop House, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features an arched niche with a moulded keystoned surround, framed by plain pilasters and a straight moulded entablature. Opposite the well head, there are two stone tanks where water flows. A sunken area lies between the tanks and the well head, which is approached by four stone steps. At the time of the survey, this area was reported to be filled with water.
