Description

33 and 35 Richmond Street are a pair of cottages dating from the 17th to 18th century. They are built from coursed limestone rubble and feature a thatched and artificial stone slate roof, along with brick and stone stacks. The cottages are two storeys high with an attic and consist of two bays.

The entrance to No. 35 is located in the left bay and has a wooden lintel, a plank door, and a tiled hood above it. To the right, there is a three-light window with a wooden lintel and a 20th-century metal casement. The right bay also features a 19th-century canted bay window. On the first floor, there is a two-light casement window with a wooden lintel and a 20th-century metal casement. A dormer on the left bay includes a sash window.

To the left, there is a gabled projection from the 18th to 19th century, made of coursed limestone rubble and topped with an artificial stone slate roof. This projection is two storeys high plus an attic and consists of one bay. The entrance to No. 33 is found in a lean-to porch on the side, featuring a doorway with a wooden lintel and a ridged plank door. To the right of this entrance is a two-light wooden casement window with a wooden lintel, along with similar windows on the first floor and in the attic. The interior has not been inspected.
