Description

Spinney Cottage is a house likely dating from the early 18th century. It is built of rendered cob and lias with a thatched roof. Originally, the house comprised three units. It has two storeys and a three-window front with casement windows featuring 20th-century leaded lights. A 20th-century door and porch are located on the right side. The end bays project slightly forward. The right gable has a parapet and kneeler. Brick stacks are present at the ridge and end of the roof. A thatched lias barn, originally attached to the right, now forms part of the house. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is included on the list as an example of cob construction.
