Description
The K6 telephone kiosk is a standardised design made of cast iron, painted red overall. It features long horizontal glazing in the door and sides, with crowns applied to the top panels rather than perforated. There are rectangular white display signs reading "TELEPHONE" beneath the shallow-curved roof. The internal equipment has been modernised. While the display signs above the door remain clear, the red paint is flaking in some areas, and two glass panes are broken.
Located at the centre of the village of Coton, the kiosk occupies a prominent position on the main road next to the village post box. It is surrounded by three listed buildings: Coton Manor, Spinney Cottage, and Merrie End, all of which are listed at Grade II. The telephone kiosk has a strong visual connection with these three listed buildings. The modern telecommunications equipment inside the K6 is not considered to have special architectural or historic interest.
