Description
The Old House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, likely dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed lias stone and features a 20th-century plain tiled roof. The building originally had an L-shaped plan and consists of two storeys with a four-window range of 20th-century casements that have leaded lights beneath wooden lintels. The cross wing to the right has ashlar gable parapets with kneelers at different levels, and there are brick stacks located at the ridge and the end of the building. A 20th-century entrance is situated at the rear, which also has an inscribed tablet with decoration that is now illegible. Inside, the ground floor features chamfered and stopped ceiling beams, and the central room includes a 17th-century moulded stone fireplace surround.
