Description

Cross Farmhouse, probably dating to the mid-17th century, is now a house. It is constructed of regular coursed lias stone with a slate roof. Originally built with a three-unit plan, the main front is a two-storey, four-window range featuring casement windows with leaded lights, each set beneath a wooden lintel. A central 19th-century glazed door is also topped with a wooden lintel. The gables have ashlar parapets and kneelers, with brick stacks at the ends. A two-window range extension was added in the late 18th century to the right, and a wing of the original 17th-century design was built to the rear. Inside, the room to the right of the entrance has an open fireplace with a bressumer, and a moulded ceiling beam displaying the date 1615 and the initials E.M. The rear kitchen features a moulded ceiling beam.
