Description

This is a pair of early to mid-19th century houses, numbers 8 and 10, and a further pair, numbers 9 and 11, Albion Place. The facades are characterized by a chequered pattern of red and pink brick. The roofs are slate-covered with brick cornice mouldings shaped like a cymarecta curve. The buildings have basements and three storeys. Each pair features a central dummy window flanked by two sash windows with glazing bars, all under flat arches. The windows of numbers 8 and 9 are flush with the wall, with an additional window on the right side of number 9. Those of numbers 10 and 11 are set within window reveals. A two-storey bay window at number 10 has curved sides on the ground floor, supported by Doric pilasters and an entablature. The doorways are paired, with panelled reveals, reeded Doric pilasters, an entablature above the pilasters, and cornices. Coupled trellis porches are located at numbers 8 and 9. Numbers 8 to 18 form a group.
