Description

A pair of buildings, numbers 17 and 18 Albion Place, were likely constructed around 1835 and designed as a symmetrical composition. The buildings are stucco-faced with a Welsh slate roof. They have basements and three storeys. Tall, fluted Doric pilasters rise through the upper floors, topped by an entablature, cornice, and a low parapet. A pair of canted bay windows are situated on the ground floor, flanking central steps leading to a recessed double porch. The porch features fluted Greek Doric columns. An ornate first-floor cast iron verandah is present, featuring a large anthemion motif in the railings. Four windows are positioned on each of the upper floors. Numbers 8 to 18 Albion Place form a group.
