Description

Foxholes is a house dating from the mid-18th century, which was remodelled in the 19th century. The house is constructed of roughly-laid ironstone rubble with a tile roof, and has brick stacks. It is one storey and attic, with three bays. The ground floor has three-light casement windows with wooden lintels. A blocked doorway is located in the second bay from the left. A semi-circular bread oven projection, partially rebuilt in brick and covered by a tile roof, is situated to the left of the window in the right bay. The gable ends are coped. There is a brick stack to the right of the centre of the house, and in the right gable. Two gabled extensions at the rear, dating from the 19th century and built of brick with pebbledash, have casement windows with pebbledash surrounds. A 4-panel door is located in the right side of the right-hand extension, set within a pebbledash surround. The interior, which was not inspected, is noted to contain a set of chamfered beams and an open fireplace in a ground floor room.
