Description
A group of kerbstones located in the forecourt of Kirby Hall, dating from the late 17th century and restored in the 20th century, likely commissioned by Sir Christopher Hatton IV. These kerbstones are made of limestone ashlar and serve as edging for the pathways in the forecourt. The kerbstones are owned by the Winchelsea estate and are under the guardianship of Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England (HBMCE). Kirby Hall itself is designated as an ancient monument and is included for its group value. Additionally, Kirby Hall Garden is listed in the HBMCE County Register of Gardens at Grade II*.
