Description

The base of a churchyard cross, dating from the 14th or 15th century, is located approximately 6 meters south of the south door of the Church of St. Rumbald. It is made of limestone ashlar and features an octagonal socket with chamfered and moulded corners that return to a square base. This cross base has likely been reset, as it was recorded in the Rectory grounds in the late 19th or early 20th century, according to C.A. Markham's "Stone Crosses of Northamptonshire."
