Description
Moat Farmhouse and the attached garden wall are a farmhouse and wall dating from the mid to late 18th century, with a possibly earlier origin. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a Collyweston stone slate roof, with coped gables and moulded stone stacks—three at the ridge and two at the gable end of the wing. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a main block that includes a two-window range with a central plain board door in a wooden surround. The windows are two-light casements, mostly from the 20th century, except for the right window on the first floor, which is iron-framed and gudgeon-hung, and has wooden lintels. The flank of the wing features a two-light casement window on both the ground and first floors, with the ground floor window having a stone head. There is a 19th-century lean-to porch at the angle of the building. The garden wall is made of brick and has rounded coping. The interior has not been inspected.
