Description
This is a group of three barns located approximately 30 meters north of Rectory Farmhouse, dating from the mid-18th century. They are constructed of squared coursed limestone and topped with pantile roofs. Each barn is a single unit, with the barn on the west side possibly having been used as a stable at one time. The elevations facing the farmyard feature central cart entrances; the left entrance is under a wooden lintel, while the others reach full height. There is a hayloft door on the far left with a gablet above it, and a chamfered plinth at the base. The rear elevation includes two stable-type doors, also under wooden lintels. Inside, the barn on the east side retains its original collar truss and purlins, while the roof structures of the other barns have been partly renewed in the 19th century. These barns are included for their group value.
