Description
This pair of houses, located approximately 30 meters southwest of Number 49 (Matchbox Cottage), dates from the early 19th century and was built for the Brudenell family of Deene Hall. They are constructed of pale red brick and topped with a Collyweston slate roof. The houses have single-unit plans with a scullery and rise to two stories, forming a four-window range. The house on the left features leaded casements, while the house on the right has 19th-century casements, all set beneath shallow brick arches. There are 19th-century doors at both ends, also under similar brick heads. The hipped roof is complemented by a central brick stack, and there is a small single-storey range at the rear. The interior includes simple 19th-century features with exposed rafters.
