Description

A row of six cottages located on Rectory Hill, Cranford St. Andrew, likely built in the 18th century. The cottages are constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with some brick dressings to the attic windows, and have thatched roofs, with brick ridges and end stacks on the left-hand side. Number 6 is a single-story building, with a central 20th-century door flanked by 2-, 1-, and 2-light windows. It includes a low, pantiled lean-to addition to the left. Cottages 8 to 16 are generally one story with an attic. They feature mostly 19th-century board doors and 1-, 2-, and 3-light casement windows with small panes and wooden lintels on the ground floor. Each cottage has two 2-light casement eyebrow dormers in the attic. Numbers 12 and 16 have county firemarks and openwork timber porches. The interiors were not inspected.
